Breath Station

Sound, computational and interactive software, laptop, headphones, ultrasound sensor, arduino, balloons, lemon tree. 2010

Documentation of BREATH STATION, developed for the Critical Animals Creative Research Symposium within the This is Not Art 2010 festival program. The work was part of the Object Manipulation Research Lab.

As green house gas levels soar we are forced to consider how to offset our personal carbon dioxide emissions. At the Breath Station you can redeem your CO2 by thoughtfully disposing of every breath you take. The Breath Station is an interactive installation which examines CO2 sequestration possibilities, such as subterranean injection and photosynthesis, by re-imagining such solutions in the personal domain.
