Tiny Tea Salon

Installation documentation from the Tiny Tea Salon as part of the The Imaginarium, Melbourne Fringe 2018.

The Tiny Tea Salon offers an intimate reflection on the art of tea.

Sip some liquid amber from a selection of preparations of the leaves from the queen of the camellias, whilst choosing, by chance, insights plucked from The Book of Tea, the 1906 treatise on the beverage.

Why the tempest in the tea cup? If tea is the cup of humanity, surely it’s time for tea.

“Each preparation of the leaves has its individuality, its special affinity with water and heat, its hereditary memories to recall, its own method of telling a story” The Book of Tea, 1906, Okakura Kakuzō
